Why I Write
I get the most joy from writing reflective, philosophical pieces that challenge readers to explore complex ideas. In this vein, I’ve written on such topics as the costs and benefits of a traveler’s lifestyle, the promises and pitfalls of English as an international language, and the role of religious identity in a “post religious” world. Such pieces have been published on diverse platforms, such as Tikkun Magazine’s blog and the “Peace Blog” of the World Peace Initiative.
I also enjoy writing persuasive pieces about contemporary political issues. One of the first posts on this blog, “It’s True, I suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome” is a good example, and remains one of the most popular on this site. I’ve also written on the importance of American expats voting in the midterm elections, and this was published in the November 2018 edition of Gwangju News in South Korea.
I hope you enjoy perusing some of my work below. If you feel you have a project for which I would be a good fit, don’t hesitate to use the contact form at the bottom of the page to get in touch with me.
